In our hallway, we have a little persian rug. Ok, so it’s not a real persian rug, it’s a cheap knock-off I bought at a hardware store back in Australia. But that’s not really important. What is important is it’s roll in giving our crazy grey and white cat, Kalimah, hours of fun.
You see, Kalimah just loves sitting on the rug and being dragged around the room. She’ll crouch down on it and look up at you like: “You should know what the procedure is hoomin, get this ride started!” And, as soon as it starts to move, she’ll act all giddy and pounce on the rug to make it all the more exciting.
Everytime we play this game, I imagine that Kalimah is living out a little fantasy in her mind. That of her being a persian genie, flying around on her magic carpet and surveying all the world below. I couldn’t shift this image from my head, and it made me giggle so much that I just had to get it out.
And here it is.
A grey and white cat riding a magic flying carpet. She wears an emerald green turban decorated with a purple jewel and some peacock feathers. A purple cape on her back flaps in the breeze as she zooms by.
